Target jumps on holiday deals due to shortened shopping season

Target Corp. has announced its holiday deals schedule, which aims to capture the retailer’s share of holiday spending despite the shortened shopping season. This year, there are six fewer days between Thanksgiving and Christmas than last year. The Black Friday preview sale starts Friday, Nov. 8 and lasts through Saturday, Nov. 9. Each weekend through Dec. 15 will feature special savings. On Nov. 27, RedCard loyalty members will have all-day access to deals, while Target Circle members can take advantage of select deals starting at 6pm. Black Friday deals start on Thanksgiving day and will last through Saturday. And Cyber Week deals will be available from Dec. 1 through Dec. 8. Target stores open 5 p.m. on Thanksgiving day, closing 1 a.m. on Friday morning. Stores will re-open at 7 a.m. on Black Friday. Target stock is up 0.6% in Wednesday premarket trading, and up 66.5% for the year to date. The S&P 500 index is up 22.7% for 2019 to date.
